The floral extract of Bellis Perennis is composed of naturally bio-active molecules that have an effect on the melanogenesis process thanks to three targeted actions:
BEFORE: Prevents the chain reaction resulting from the activation of tyrosinase, the key enzyme in melanogenesis.
DURING: Reduces the expression and activity of tyrosinase with a proven anti-free radical effect.
AFTER: Inhibits the transfer of melanosomes towards the keratinocytes.
UVs cause oxidative stress, which pushes the body to defend itself, stimulating melanogenesis by increasing the activity of tyrosinase. Stabilised Vitamin C is a recognised antioxidant and effectively slows down free radical production. Consequently, it inhibits UV-induced melanogenesis. It also inhibits the activity of tyrosinase, preventing appearance of dark spots by regulating melanin production.
