UNLOCKING THE SECRETS OF SKIN REGENERATION
Did you know that our skin regenerates naturally every 28 days on average, producing new cells that perform more efficiently?
However, the cell renewal process gradually slows down approximately from the age of 25, causing the first visible signs of ageing to appear on our skin.
Let's take a closer look at what exactly happens inside this fascinating organ.
UNDERSTANDING THE SKIN AGEING PROCESS
Our skin is made up of 3 main layers which are themselves divided into several distinct parts:
The epidermis, the dermis and the hypodermis.
As we get older, each layer is impacted:
- In the epidermis, the cells have more difficulty to regenerate. This leads to an accumulation of old cells, which overshadow the younger ones. As a result, the stratum corneum, the uppermost layer of the epidermis, becomes thicker, causing dehydration, dullness and wrinkles. On the contrary, we can observe a thinning of the entire epidermis starting at the menopause.
- If we go down to the lower level at the dermis, the production of sebum, collagen and elastin also decreases, which are essential to maintain the skin density and firmness.
- Finally, skin slackening can be identified at the deepest level of the skin, in the hypodermis. Essentially made up of fat cells, it is in charge of maintaining the skin's muscular density.
All these phenomena are influenced by our genetics, but they are more widely favoured by external causes. The sun, pollution, smoking, stress and other factors linked to our lifestyle and environment can accelerate the natural ageing process.
ACT ON THE AGEING MECANISM
Slowing down the ageing process is in everyone’s power! Here are some recommendations to age gracefully:
Protect your skin from external aggressors
For instance, if you live in a sunny place, adopt skincare with SPF against the UV rays which are responsible for premature skin ageing. If you live in a big and crowded city, turn instead to anti-pollution products.
Adopt targeted regenerating products
The EXCELLENCE range is our star Regeneration collection. It gathers the best regenerative active ingredients such as Biotechnological peptides, diamond powder, Pure Gold powder, Panax Ginseng, Vitamin E besides our proprietary Trio-Molecular® Formula.

Don't skip out on hydration
